THE HOUSES AND THE ESTATE
Our family estate is named after the Kövirigó (rock thrush, Monticola saxatilis), a bird native to Mount Csobánc, which symbolizes freedom and nature for us.
The entire estate spans 3.5 hectares, surrounded by a fence, nestled in the embrace of the monadnocks, at the foot of Csobánc Hill, where the Káli and Tapolca basins meet, in one of the most beautiful regions of the Balaton Highlands. Officially, it belongs to Gyulakeszi, although it is located outside the village. Tapolca and Káptalantóti are 3 km away, while Szigliget, Badacsony, and Köveskál are 12 km, while Szent-György Hill is in the neighbourhood.

In the large 300 m² residential building on the estate, we have created 5 bedrooms, communal areas, and a spacious group room.
On the ground floor, there is a hallway, a spacious kitchen-dining-living area, where the dining table can seat 18 people at once, an additional toilet, a laundry room, a 40 m² group room, and a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom.
The upper floor features 4 additional rooms: two rooms with a double bed and a pull-out sofa, and two rooms with a double bed. Each room comes with its own en-suite bathroom. Additional cots or extra beds can be requested for children. On the upper floor, in front of the rooms, we have set up a small play area for children, featuring a little tent, a play kitchen, books, building blocks, board games, and a large sofa.
The main building also features a spacious terrace with garden furniture, a grill, and sunbeds.
Small house
Behind the main house, there is a smaller house where we have created a separate apartment, fully equipped. It includes a living room and kitchen, a sleeping gallery, a separate entrance bedroom, and a bathroom. This house is ideal for a family or 4 adults.
The small house also has a spacious terrace with comfortable garden furniture.
The small house can be rented together with the main house or separately outside the high season, if the main house is not booked.
Small house
Behind the main house, there is a smaller house where we have created a separate apartment, fully equipped. It includes a living room and kitchen, a sleeping gallery, a separate entrance bedroom, and a bathroom. This house is ideal for a family or 4 adults.
The small house can be rented together with the main house or separately outside the high season, if the main house is not booked.
Tiny House
On the estate, we have a very small cottage, designed for two people, located at the end of the vineyard, beneath a giant walnut tree, with a view of Lake Balaton and the surrounding hills. The cottage also has its own bathroom, a small kitchen, a storage area, a pull-out sofa, a sleeping gallery, and a small terrace.
It is ideal for 1 or 2 people, whether you’re arriving with a larger group or for a private chef if you’d like full catering during your stay. Outside the peak season, on weekdays, this tiny house can be rented separately—provided the estate is available.We provide a bottle of champagne or wine (or a fermented drink), marinated meat (or vegetables) that you can prepare yourself on the small Kamado grill that comes with the cabin. The main building includes an outdoor pool located on the terrace, complemented by comfortable lounge chairs. Facing the terrace, a 6-person jacuzzi awaits our guests, which provides a particularly cozy atmosphere after dark, thanks to the string lights.

The estate
In front of the terrace, we’ve created a small sandbox for children, and next to the small house, there is a traditional cooking and barbecue area for those who enjoy outdoor cooking.
We have a large, covered parking area with space for 6 cars, which also includes a fast charger for electric vehicles.
The estate features nearly 100 almond trees, a lavender garden, three vineyards, fruit trees, a large vegetable garden, an acacia forest, and several lookout points offering beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding area and Lake Balaton.
Our estate is an active farm, so during your stay, it is possible that one of our colleagues will be performing agricultural work on the property. But, of course, our guests will not be disturbed while in the residential areas
WHY WE LOVE IT HERE
The house is usable year-round thanks to the underfloor heating, heat pump air conditioning, and tile stoves. We love it in every season: in autumn, the harvest atmosphere and the colorful leaves of the forest, along with the long Indian summer, warm our hearts; in winter, the crackling of the wood in the stove and its long-lasting warmth, and the slow snowfall enchant us; in spring, nature comes back to life, and everything turns green again. In summer, the house shows its best face: the pool is in constant use, we eat outdoors on the terrace, and in the evenings, with a spritzer in hand, we relax in the lounge chairs or on a soft blanket, watching the shooting stars, while chatting, drinking, or playing board games late into the night.
We love being here because time slows down, and it feels like nothing else exists, just this place and nature: full of colorful butterflies, large fig trees laden with ripe figs, wildflowers, and herbs at every step, their scent so strong it feels like being in a Mediterranean kitchen. The living room almost blends into the garden, as if it continues there. The dining area is surrounded by windows that offer stunning views in every direction: in front, the St. George Hill and the Szigliget Castle, to the left, Csobánc Hill, and to the right, the Tapolca Basin.
We love that it’s a working farm: we harvest fresh vegetables from the garden, season our meals with herbs from the spice garden, process and dry fruits, make jams and chutneys, and prepare delicious syrups from lavender and fig leaves.
