We could not have dreamed of a more beautiful panorama than the view of Lake Balaton, nestled in the embrace of the monadnock hills, surrounded by vineyards and the neighboring villages. Above the estate stands the impressive Csobánc, with its castle ruins. The crown jewel is, of course, the more than 100-year-old house, which we have tried to renovate according to our best knowledge and sense of beauty, preserving everything valuable and reusable, just as we did with the outdoor areas. The estate’s surroundings were once a nearly 100-tree almond grove, vineyard, and orchard.

While preserving the legacy of the past, we introduced new ideas: we planted a lavender field, introduced new fruit trees from native Hungarian varieties, created a small berry orchard, a vegetable garden, and a mini herb garden. We rebuilt the collapsed retaining walls, repaired the fence, and created a charming signpost to guide visitors to our estate.

In the meantime, we also revived the old irrigation system, and finally, we have more time for the estate and agricultural tasks.

We have begun harvesting and processing the produce: we constantly try new techniques and recipes. How can we make delicious syrups from the harvest, jams, dried goods for the winter, how can we preserve them through pickling, canning, or fermenting? There is still a long way ahead of us, but luckily, we love learning. We are full of openness and a spirit of experimentation, which helps us discover new methods and gradually create ever-better products.
